**Summary:**
The Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PMDAKSH) Scheme, overseen by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has provided skill training to 187,305 individuals, as of August 12, 2025. Out of these beneficiaries, 73,102 (39%) have secured employment or self-employment.
To ensure effective implementation and quality outcomes, the scheme incorporates a multi-faceted monitoring mechanism. The National Scheduled Castes Finance Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Backward Classes Finance Development Corporation (NBCFDC), and National Safai Karamcharis Finance Development Corporation (NSKFDC) directly monitor all training programs. This includes participation in selection committee meetings, review of meeting minutes, e-based and direct surveillance, and consolidation of beneficiary details in a designated portal.
Further monitoring measures include site inspections by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) PMU teams, instant information dissemination via WhatsApp groups, CCTV surveillance, and live streaming of training sessions. Training institutes are subject to scrutiny based on surprise inspections, and unsatisfactory performance may lead to program cancellation.
Under the Short Term Training program, institutes must ensure that at least 70% of trainees gain employment (wage or self-employment) post-training. Failure to meet this benchmark results in the withholding of the final 30% installment of the training cost.
The NSFDC, NBCFDC, and NSKFDC also provide loan facilities and assistance to eligible youth from the target groups to support project setup, including project preparation, training, and financial aid for both employability and entrepreneurship after vocational training. Trainings are conducted across National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) compliant courses.
