Unauthorised occupation on National Highways is a serious concern for Government and special efforts have been taken up for identification and removal of such unauthorised occupations on NationaI Highways in accordance with the provision of Control of Nationat Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002, read with Highway Administration Rutes, 2004. You are atso aware that the Ministry has reviewed the provisions of identification and removal of such unauthorised occupations, and has accordingty reconstituted the Highways Administration, vide Notification No. S.O. 4841 (E) dated 21.10.2025, detegated the powers under the Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002 for their effective enforcement, vide Notifications Nos. S.0. 49636(E), S.O. 49637(E) & S.O. 4938(E) dated 29.10.2025. ln addition to these measures, the Ministry has also created a separate modute for capturing comptaints regarding unauthorized occupations on Rajmargyatra App and instructed for the development of Drone Anatysis Management System (DAMS) on the Data Lake Portal maintained by NHAI.
