In exercise of the powers conferred by section 181 read with section 46 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (central Act 36
of 2003) and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory commission hereby makes
the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution code, the draft of the same having been previously
published, as required under sub-section (3) of the said section 181.

explanatory statement
1. Formats of applications for supply of electricity have been specified in ANNEXURE III to the Tamil Nadu
Electricity Distribution code. In order to supplement the efforts of the Government of Tamil Nadu in “ The Business
Reform Action Plan 2017” which requires the required number of documents for availing new hT service connection to
be reduced to two and further to aid the efforts of Government of Tamil Nadu in improving the ranking of the state of
Tamil Nadu in the DIpp under “Assessment of state Implementation of business Reforms 2017”, the commission, on
the basis of the request made by TANGEDCO in this regard, finds it expedient and necessary to amend the Form 4
specified in Annexure III of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code.
2. The amendment seeks to achieve the said object.
