(ï.è. â‡. 0413/è/2018) No.VI-3(b)/8/2018. It is hereby notifi ed that in accordance with sub sections (1) and (2) of Section 12 of the Tamil University Act 1982 and under the heading “D. Committee for recommending a panel for Vice Chancellorship” in Chapter XXV of the Tamil University Statutes, elections will be held for nominating one person by the Senate of the University and two persons by the Syndicate of the University to serve on the committee of fi ve who are to suggest a panel of three names to the Chancellor for the appointment of the Vice Chancellor. The election will be held in accordance with the Statutes under Chapter XXV. Each member of the Senate shall have the right to nominate not more than one person who is not a member of any of the authorities of the University to the said committee. Similarly each member of the Syndicate shall have the right to nominate not more than two persons who are not members of any of the authorities of the University to the said committee. Every nomination by a member of the Syndicate shall be in writing signed by the proposer and seconded in writing by another member of the Syndicate called the seconder in the prescribed form. Similarly every nomination by a member of the Senate shall be in writing signed by the proposer and seconded in writing by another member of the Senate called the Seconder in the prescribed form. The prescribed form may be obtained from the Registrar on a written requisition signed by any member of the Syndicate and the Senate. No nomination shall be valid unless it contains the signatures of both the proposer and the seconder and the nomination shall also be signed by the person proposed expressing his consent to be nominated. Every nomination must be presented before the Registrar either by the proposer or the seconder or the person proposed before 3 p.m. on Tuesday the 6th March 2018. The Scrutiny of nomination will take place at 3.30 p.m. on the 6th March 2018 at the offi ce of the Registrar, Tamil University, Thanjavur. The proposer or the seconder or the proposed nominees are entitled to be present at the time of scrutiny. The following is the programme for election. 1. Publication of the list of valid nominations : Evening of Tuesday the 6th March 2018. to the candidates validly nominated 2.
