This is an announcement from the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO), General Construction Circle, Madurai, dated February 19, 2025. The announcement, reference number Lr.No.SE/GCC/MDU/AEE/MONI/F. P.N/D.No. 78/25, pertains to the establishment of new sub-stations and associated transmission lines in Madurai and Dindigul districts to meet the increased electricity load. The TANGEDCO has already been granted permission from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to establish new sub-stations and electric lines for the years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
The announcement lists the following projects:
1. Construction of a 230 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing 230 kV Sembatti line to the new Thumbalapatti 230/110 kV substation using Zebra conductor: 1 km (₹119.00 Lakhs).
2. Construction of a 110 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing 110 kV Sembatti - Udumalaipettai line to the new Thumbalapatti 230/110 kV substation using Panther conductor: 2 km (₹152.26 Lakhs).
3. Construction of a 110 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing 110 kV Renganathapuram - Udumalaipettai line to the new Thumbalapatti 230/110 kV substation using Panther conductor: 2 km (₹152.26 Lakhs).
4. Construction of a single circuit transmission line on a 110 kV double circuit tower from the new Thumbalapatti 230/110 kV substation to the existing 110 kV Sembatti - Udumalaipettai line at tower number 104 using Panther conductor: 2 km (₹136.10 Lakhs).
5. Converting the existing single circuit to double circuit on the double circuit tower of the existing 230 kV Sembatti - Udumalaipettai line using Panther conductor from tower number 104 to 144: 17 km (₹161.50 Lakhs).
6. Construction of a 110 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing 110 kV Pasumalai - Thulukkapatti line to the new Valayankulam 110 kV substation using Panther conductor: 12 km (₹913.56 Lakhs).
7. Construction of a 1x630 sq.mm underground double circuit transmission line at the new Valayankulam 110 kV substation: 1 km (₹702.070 Lakhs).
8. Construction of a 110 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing 110 kV Pasumalai - Anuppankulam and 110 kV Pasumalai - Thulukkapatti lines, changing the T-Off arrangement, to the Aviyur 110 kV substation using Panther conductor: 0.5 km (₹38.065 Lakhs).
9. Construction of a single circuit transmission line on a new 110 kV double circuit tower from the Achchanputhur 110 kV substation to Common Point Loc.1 using Panther conductor: 10.758 km (₹1172.855 Lakhs).
10. Construction of a 110 kV 1x630 sq.mm underground transmission line from Common Point Loc.1 to the Sengottai Railway Traction substation: 2.00 km.
11. Construction of a single circuit transmission line on a new 110 kV double circuit / short base tower from the Reddiapatti 110/11 kV substation to Aishwarya Textiles, Rajapalayam using Panther conductor: 1.92 km (₹156.417 Lakhs).
Any grievances regarding the routes of the aforementioned high-voltage lines should be communicated in writing to the undersigned officer within two months from the date of this announcement, as per the Electricity Act of 2003.
