NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th May, 2026
S.O. 2468(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and section 5A of the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby extends the term of the
existing Animal Welfare Board of India, constituted vide notification number S.O. 2222(E), dated the 15th May, 2023,
for a further period of six months beyond the 14th May, 2026, i.e. up to the 14th November, 2026, or till the constitution
of the new Board, whichever is earlier.
