The Central Govt, after consultation with the Govt. of Maharashtra, hereby declare that the provisions of said Acts, namely, the Metro Railway (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 and the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002 shall respectively extend to the Nagpur City and metropolitan area of Nagpur in the State of Maharashtra with effect from the date of publication.

S.O. 2444(E).— In exercise of the powers respectively conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 1 of the Metro
Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978) and sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the Metro Railways
(Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002 (60 of 2002), the Central Government, after consultation with the Government of
Maharashtra, hereby declare that the provisions of said Acts, namely, the Metro Railway (Construction of Works) Act,
1978 and the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002 shall respectively extend to the Nagpur City and
metropolitan area of Nagpur in the State of Maharashtra with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the
