* Two-wheeled battery-operated vehicles are not considered motor vehicles if they meet specific criteria, including motor power under 0.25 kW and a maximum speed of 25 km/hr.
* Pedal-assisted vehicles with auxiliary electric motors must also have a motor output progressively reduced and cut off at 25 km/hr or when pedaling stops.
Dealer/Manufacturer/Test Agency Roles:
* The terms "dealer" in Rules 33, 35, 39 are replaced with "dealer or manufacturer of automobiles or automobile ancillaries or a test agency specified in rule 126".
Standards for Agricultural Tractors:
* Effective October 1, 2014, agricultural tractors must adhere to IS: 15804:2008 and IS: 15802:2008 standards, replacing AIS 019 2001 and AIS 011 2001.
* Effective April 1, 2015, tractors with windscreens must conform to AIS 011 2001.
* Fuel tanks of agricultural tractors must conform to AIS: 1042008 from April 1, 2015.
* Maximum design speed for agricultural tractors must accord with AIS 116 2009 from April 1, 2015.
Rear Marking Plates:
* Certain vehicle categories (N2, N3, trailers, and articulated buses) manufactured after April 1, 2015, must have rear marking plates conforming to AIS 089 2005.
