2. खिनज !रयायत िनयम, 1960 के िनयम 24 क म-(cid:10)
(क) उप-िनयम (6) के 3 थान पर िन# निलिखत उप-िनयम रखा जाएगा, अथा&त ् :—
“(6) य(cid:4)द खनन प4े के (cid:18)थम नवीकरण के िलए उप-िनयम (1) म (cid:10) िन6द7 ट समय के भीतर (cid:4)कये गय े आवेदन
को प4ा समाि;त ितिथ से पहले रा< य सरकार (cid:17)ारा नह= िनपटाया जाता ह ै तो उस प4े क(cid:13) अविध को दो
और वषB क(cid:13) अविध अथवा रा< य सरकार (cid:17)ारा उस पर आदेश (cid:4)दया जान,े जो भी पहले हो, तक के िलए
िव3 ता!रत माना जायगे ा ।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 18th July, 2014
G.S.R. 510(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 13 of the Mines and Minerals
(Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following
—
rules further to amend the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960, namely :
1. (1) These rules may be called the Mineral Concession (Amendment) Rules, 2014.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960, in Rule 24A, -
(a) For sub-rule (6), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
“(6) If an application for first renewal of a mining lease made within the time referred to in sub-rule (1)
is not disposed of by the State Government before the date of expiry of the lease, the period of that
lease shall be deemed to have been extended by a further period of two years or till the State
Government passes order thereon, whichever is earlier:
Provided that the leases where applications for first renewal of mining lease have been made to the
State Government and which have not been disposed of by the State Government before the date of
expiry of lease and are pending for disposal as on the date of the notification of this amendment, shall
be deemed to have been extended by a further period of two years from the date of coming into force
of this amendment or till the State Government passes order thereon or the date of expiry of the
maximum period allowed for first renewal, whichever is the earliest:¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
Provided further that the provisions of this sub-rule shall not apply to renewal under sub-section (3) of
Section 8 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957).”.
(b) in sub-rule (9), the words “or the date of expiry of the maximum period allowed for first renewal,
whichever is earlier.” shall be inserted at the end.
