The Central Govt. hereby notify Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Leader of Opposition in the Council of States with effect from 8th June, 2014 for the purpose of the said Act.
This notification, issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on June 24, 2014, officially recognizes Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Leader of the Opposition in the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) with effect from June 8, 2014. This recognition is in pursuance of Section 2 of the Salary and Allowances of Leaders of Opposition in Parliament Act, 1977 (Act No. 33 of 1977).
