The Central Govt. in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (1986 of 63), appoint Shri Sunil Soni, IAS (MH:81) as Director General in the Bureau of Indian Standards on in situ elevation basis by temporarily upgrading in the post Director General.
This notification, issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Department of Consumer Affairs on January 15, 2015, announces the temporary in-situ elevation of Shri Sunil Soni, IAS (MH:81), to the post of Director General in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Exercising powers conferred by subsection 1 of Section 7 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986), the Central Government has upgraded Shri Soni to the rank and pay of Secretary, fixed at Rs. 80,000. This appointment is effective from October 16, 2014, until November 28, 2014, the date on which he relinquished the charge of the post of DG, BIS. This notification is in continuation of notification S.O. 2269E, dated July 12, 2013, and pursuant to Department of Personnel and Training Order No. 3638/2014-EO(SM1) dated November 3, 2014.
