ORDER
New Delhi, the 26th June, 2018
S.O. 3137(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under
sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities
Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued order No. PD-12002/03/2018-COFEPOSA dated 09.04.2018 under the said
sub-section directing that Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma, S/o Shri Yashwant Kumar Sharma, R/o Village-
Mohalia, Balughat Brahmsthan, Muzaffarpur, Post-Muzaffarpur, P.S–Muzaffarpur Town, District–
Muzaffarpur – 842001 (Bihar), be detained and kept in Beur Central Jail, Patna with a view to preventing him
from smuggling goods, engaging in transporting or keeping of smuggled goods and dealing in smuggled
goods in future.
2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded
or has been concealing himself so that the order cannot be executed.
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7
of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director
General of Police, Government of Bihar, Patna within 7 days of the publication of this order in the Official
Gazette.
