The members are appointed for a term of five years from the date of assumption of charge, until they reach the age of 70, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. These appointments are subject to the outcome of court cases challenging the Finance Act, 2017, and related rules, including WP No. 1129/2017 concerning NCDRC member appointments, pending before the Supreme Court.

New Delhi, the 25th June, 2018
S.O. 3126(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 22E of the Consumer Protection
Act, 1986 read with rule 4 of the Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal and other Authorities (Qualifications,
Experience and other Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 2017 and with the approval of the
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), conveyed by Department of Personnel and Training vide
communication No. 9/14/2018 –EO (SM II) dated 14.06.2018, the Central Government hereby appoints the
following to the posts of Member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) as per
details given below, for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge, or till
attaining the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, subject to outcome of the court
cases challenging the provisions of the Finance Act, 2017 and the rules notified thereunder pending before the
Supreme Court, including the case relating to appointment of Members in NCDRC i.e. WP No. 1129/2017:
