Where as the said Gazette was made available to the public on dated: 29.11.2023. And, Whereas objections and suggestions received in this behalf have been considered by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Karnataka Electricity Reforms Act, 1999 (Karnataka Act 25 of 1999) as required by sub-section (1) of the said section the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules namely:- RULES 1.Title and Commencement : - (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (Chairman and other Members, Remuneration Allowance and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette. 2.Amendment of Rule 6 :- In Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (Chairman and other Members, Remuneration Allowance and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2000, in Rule 6,- (i) In sub-rule (4), after clause (b), the following shall be inserted, namely:- (1)R.N.I. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 “(b-a) The Non official persons appointed as Chairman or Members shall receive pension calculated after adding five years of weightage to their service and not more than half of the last pay drawn at the time of retirement.” (ii) For sub-rule (7), the following shall be substituted, namely:- “(7) Where the Chairman or a Member of the Commission dies while in service after having rendered not less than one year of continuous service, or dies after retirement from service in the Commission, the rate of family pension shall be fixed in the following manner, namely:- (a) in case of death while in service, family pension calculated at the rate of sixty percent of the pension admissible on the date of his death shall be payable to the person or persons entitled thereto for a period of seven years or for a period up to the date on which the Chairman or a Member would have attained the age of seventy two years, had he survived, whichever is earlier and thereafter at the rate of half of the family pension so admissible.
