These Acts aims at ensuing adequate availability of all the commodities scheduled under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 at fair price. The Seven categories of Essential Commodities in the schedule of the Act include Drugs, Fertilizers, Petroleum & Petroleum product, Raw Jute & Textiles, Foodstuff, Crop seeds and Hank yarn made wholly from cotton. For effective enforcement Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 and furnishing consolidated item wise report to Government of India, Government of Karnataka is hereby appoints Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affair Department as Nodal Department for collecting ATR from all the concerned departments and to furnish monthly consolidated item wise report.
