ऄजधजनयम, 2006 (2006 का 34) की धारा 16 के साथ पठित धारा 92 की ईप-धारा (2) के खडं (ड़) के ऄधीन ऄपनी
िजियों का प्रयोग करत े हुए, कजथत ऄजधजनयम की धारा 92 की कजथत ईप-धारा (1) के माध्यम स े ऄपेजक्षतानुसार,
एतद्द्वारा प्रभाजवत होन े वाल े सभं ाजवत सभी व्यजियों को जानकारी और सूचना दते े ह ैं दक कजथत प्रारूप जवजनयम पर आस
ऄजधसूचना जो सरकारी राजपत्र म ें प्रकाजित की जाएगं ी, की प्रजतयां जनता को ईपलब्ध कराए जान े की जतजथ से तीस ददन
की ऄवजध समाप्त होन े के पश्चात, जवचार दकया जाएगा।

1. संजक्षप्त नाम और प्रारंभ – (1) आन जवजनयमों का संजक्षप्त नाम खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक (खाद्य ईत्पाद मानक और खाद्य
सहयोज्य) संिोधन जवजनयम, 2020 ह ै।
(2) य ेराजपत्र में ईनके ऄंजतम प्रकािन की तारीख को प्रवृि होंगे ।

“12 जिया बटर
(1) जववरण
जिया बटर से वह ईत्पाद ऄजभप्रेत ह,ै जो जिया वृक्ष (Butyrospermumparkii)की गुिजलयों से जनष्पीड़न द्वारा जनकाला
जाता ह।ै आसे मानव ईपभोग के जलए ईपयुि बनाने के जलए पठरष्कृत दकया जाएगा। पठरष्कृत जिया बटर का ईपयोग
यथावत दकया जा सकता ह ैऄथवा जवजभन्न खाद्य प्रयोगों में ईपयुितः प्रयोग के जलए स्ट्टीएठरन/ ओलीन ऄंि प्राप्त करने के
जलए िुष्क प्रभाजन ऄथवा जवलायक प्रभाजन तकनीक से तोड़ा जा सकता ह।ै जिया बटर ऄधय वसाओं और तले ों के
ऄजधजमश्रण से मुि हो और आसमें कोइ बाहरी ऄपजमश्रक, कोइ बाहरी सामग्री ऄथवा योजजत रंजन पदाथव न हों।
जपघलान े पर यह स्ट्वच्छ हो।

जनकली जाती ह।ै आल्लीपी बटर ऄधय तेलों और वसायों के ऄजधजमश्रण से मुि हो और आसमें ऄपजमश्रक, सड़ांध, जनलंजबत
ऄथवा ऄधय बाहरी सामग्री, जवलजगत जल, योजजत रंग ऄथवा सुवासकारी पदाथव, ऄथवा खजनज तले न हो। जपघलान े पर यह
स्ट्वच्छ हो।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the27th July, 2020
F. No. Stds/O&F/Notification (5)/FSSAI-2017-The following draft of certain regulations, further
to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011,
which the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India proposes to make with previous approval of the
Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of sub-section (2) of section 92 read
with sections 16 of of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006) is hereby published as
required by the said sub-section (1) of section 92 of the said Act for the information of all persons likely to
be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft regulations shall be taken into
consideration after the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Official
Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public.
Objections or suggestions, if any,may be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and
Standards Authority of India, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi- 110002 or sent on email at
regulation@fssai.gov.in.
Objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft
regulations before the expiry of period so specified, shall be considered by the Food Authority.
Draft Regulations
1. Short title and commencement-(1) These regulations may be called the Food Safety and Standards
(Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations,
2011,in regulation 2.2, (A) in sub-regulation 2.2.4 relating to Edible fats,
(a) after clause 11 relating to Peanut Butter, the following clause shall be inserted, namely- 11.
“12. Shea butter
(1) Description:
Shea butter means the product obtained by pressing and extraction from shea kernels derived from
Shea tree (Butyrospermum parkii). It shall be refined to make it fit for human consumption. The
refined shea butter may be used as such or fractionated using dry fractionation or solvent
fractionation technique to obtain stearin/olein fractions to be suitably used for different food
applications.
Shea butter shall be free from admixture with other oils and fats and free from adulterants, any
foreign matter or added colouring substance. It shall be clear on melting.

13. Borneo tallow/ Illipe butter
(1) Description:
Borneo tallow/ Illipe buttermeans the fat obtained by pressing and extraction from Illipe seeds
(Shorea stenoptera). Illipe butter shall be free from admixture with other oils and fats and free from
adulterants, rancidity, suspended or any foreign matter, separated water, added colouring or
flavouring substance, or mineral oil. It shall be clear on melting.
It shall conform to the following standards:
Parameters Borneo tallow/ Illipe butter
Refractive index at 40°C 1.4560 – 1.4570
Iodine Value 25 – 38
Saponification Value 180- 200
Unsaponifiable matter Not more than 2.5%
Free Fatty acids (as oleic acid) Not more than 3 %
Test for argemone oil shall be negative.
