NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 16th July, 2018
G.S.R. 652(E).— The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Calcium Carbide Rules,
1987 which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the
Inflammable Substances Act, 1952 (20 of 1952) read with section 4 and sub-sections 2 and 3 of section 29 of
the Petroleum Act, 1934 (30 of 1934) is hereby published as required by sub-section 2 of section 29 of the
Petroleum Act, 1934 (30 of 1934) for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is
hereby given that the said draft shall be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of period of forty-five
days from the date on which the copies of Gazette of India containing the draft rules are made available to the
public;
Objections or suggestions, if any, to these draft rules may be sent to the Additional Secretary,
Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Room No. 259, Udyog
Bhawan, New Delhi-110011, email : singh.shailen@nic.in, within the period specified above;
The objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect of the said draft
rules within the period above so specified shall be taken into consideration by the Central Government.
Draft Rules
1. (1) These rules may be called the Calcium Carbide (Amendment) Rules, 2018.
(2)They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Calcium Carbide Rules, 1987, in rule 10, the words “Jawaharlal Nehru Port” shall be inserted
after the word “Visakhapatnam”.
