ताजलका के क्रमांक 4 पर िी गयी वस्ट्तओंु का रेजिस्ट्रीकरण प्रमाण-पत्र िारी या नए करन े तथा नए रेजिस्ट्रीकरण जचह्न
प्रिान करने के जलए फीस के भगु तान स े छूट िी िाएगी।’’;

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th May, 2021
G.S.R 352(E).—The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules,
1989, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 64 and
211of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 ( 59 of 1988) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of Section
212 of the said Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the
said draft rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of 30 days from the date on which the
copies of this notification as published in the Gazette of India, are made available to the public.
The objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft rules
before the expiry of the period aforesaid will be considered by the Central Government;

DRAFT RULES
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called as the Central Motor Vehicles
(Amendment……… ) Rules, 2021.
2. These rules shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
3. In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in rule 81, after the first proviso, the following proviso shall be
inserted, namely.-
“Provided further that, for the Battery Operated Vehicles as defined in rule 2(u); the items given at Sl. no. 4
of the below mentioned TABLE shall be exempted from the payment of fees for the purpose of issue or
renewal of registration certificate and assignment of new registration mark.”
