3. उ(cid:7004)सज(cid:6981)न म(cid:7286) लाग ू होने वाल े (cid:7076)वीकृत (cid:7079)ाकृितक गैस संरचना उन (cid:7306)धन िविनदश(cid:7287) (cid:7298) के अनुसार होना चािहए, जैसा (cid:7408)क
यथाि(cid:7021)थित पे(cid:7069)ोिलयम और (cid:7079)ाकृितक गसै मं(cid:7074)ालय, भारत सरकार या भारतीय मानक (cid:7011)यूरो के (cid:7367)ारा, समय-समय
पर मोटर वाहन आवेदन के िलए िविनदश(cid:7287) (cid:7298) (cid:7367)ारा अिधसूिचत (cid:7408)कया गया ह;ै
पर(cid:7008)तु (cid:7076)िवत (cid:7079)ाकृितक गसै (cid:7306)धन, उपाबंध 4 - एलए म(cid:7286) अपे(cid:6979)ा(cid:7312) का पालन करत े (cid:7263)ए, (cid:7079)कार के अनुमोदन
और उ(cid:7004)पादन क(cid:7409) अनु(cid:7272)पता के (cid:7079)योजन के िलए (cid:7408)कया जाएगा।

New Delhi, the 21st April, 2017
G.S.R 402(E).— The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles
Rules, 1989, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section
110 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section
212 of the said Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby, and notice is hereby given that
the said draft shall be taken into consideration after expiry of a period of seven days from the date on which
the copies of the Gazette of India containing this notification are made available to the Public;
Objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft rules
within the period aforesaid shall be considered by the Central Government.

DRAFT RULES
1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (----Amendment) Rules, 2017.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, -
(i) rule 115B shall be renumbered as sub-rule (1) thereof and after sub-rule (1) as so renumbered,
the following shall be inserted namely: -
“(2)The mass emission standards applicable to Original Equipment CNG Dedicated Vehicles
under sub-rule (1) shall be applicable to Original Equipment manufactured vehicle having
GVW ≥ 3.5 T, when Liquified Natural Gas is used as fuel.
3. The Liquified Natural Gas composition used for carrying out emission shall meet the fuel
specification as notified by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India
or Bureau of Indian Standard, as the case may be, specifications for automotive application
from time to time:
Provided that till such time the Liqiufied Natural Gas fuel complying to the
requirements in Annexure IV- LA shall be used for the purpose of type approval and
conformity of production.
4. The Original Equipment manufactued Liqiufied Natural Gas dedicated vehicle having
GVW ≥3.5 T shall meet the safety requirements as laid down in AIS-024 and AIS- 028

(ii) in sub-rule (1),-
(a) in para E, for the letters “CNG”, the letters and word “CNG/bio-CNG/ LNG” shall be
substituted;
(b) in para F, in the Note, after serial number 3, the following serial number shall be inserted,
namely: -
‘3(a) “O.E. LNG Dedicated Vehicle” means the vehicles which are manufactured for
LNG operation by the vehicle manufacturers prior to their first registration;”
(iii) for Annexure IX, the following Annexure shall be substituted, namely: -
