Whereas the draft of the Karnataka General Service (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2020 was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) in Notification No DPAL 45 BHANIVI 2020, dated: 23.11.2020 in part IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary (No.594) dated:23.11.2020 inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely to be affected thereby, within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette;R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 3 Whereas, this said Gazette was made available to the public on 23rd November 2020. And, whereas no objections and suggestions have been received by the State Government in respect of the said draft rules. Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3, read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Service Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka General Service (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force from date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Schedule.- In the Karnataka General Service (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) Rules, 2001, in the Schedule, at serial number 8, in the entries relating to the category of post of "Translator” in column No (7), under the heading “For promotion”, for item (ii) and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely :- “(ii) Must have put in not less than five years of service in the cadre of Stenographer or First Division Assistant or Senior Typist: Provided that, if an official who has put in a service of not less than five years is not available, then an official who has put in a service of not less than three years may be considered for promotion.” By Order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka (R.
