The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka General Services (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) Rules, 2001, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the said Act for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person in respect of the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka General Services (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force from date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of the Schedule.- In the Karnataka General Services (Directorate of Translations) (Recruitment) Rules, 2001, in the Schedule, at serial number 8, in the entries relating to the category of posts of "Translator” in column No (7), under the heading “For promotion”, for item (ii) and the entries relating thereto the following shall be substituted, namely :- “(ii) Must have put in not less than five years of service in the cadre of Stenographer or First Division Assistant or Senior Typist: Provided that, if an official who has put in a service of not less than five years is not available, then an official who has put in a service of not less than three years may be considered for promotion.” By Order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka (R.
