NOTIFICATION Whereas the pay of the Chairman of the Karnataka Public Service Commission was revised vide Notification No. DPAR 20 SeLoAa 2018 dated:26.09.2019 published in the Karnataka Official Gazette on 27.09.2019. Whereas the pay of the Members of the Karnataka Public Service Commission was revised vide Notification No. DPAR 64 SLA 2020 dated:16.07.2021 published in the Karnataka Gazette on 16.07.2021. And whereas the Government intends to revise the Pay Scale of the Chairman and Members of the Karnataka Public Service Commission in accordance with the recommendation of the Central Seventh Pay Commission with effect from 01.01.2016. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 318 of the Constitution of India and in partial modification of earlier Notifications No. DPAR 20 SeLoAa 2018 dated:26.09.2019 and No. DPAR 64 SLA 2020 dated:16.07.2021, the Governor of Karnataka, hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1957, namely:- REGULATIONS 1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These regulations may be called the Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025. (2) They shall come into force at once. Amendment of regulation 4.- In the Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1957, in regulation 4, in clause (1):- (i) for sub-clause (i) except the provisos the following shall be substituted and shall be deemed to have been substituted with effect from the 1st day of January 2016, namely:- “(i) The Chairman shall receive a pay of two lakh twenty five thousand rupees and each of the other Member shall receive a pay of two lakh five thousand one hundred rupees with effect from 1st day of January 2016. (ii) after sub clause (i), the following shall be inserted, namely:- “(i-a) The pay of the Chairman and Members of the Commission shall be as specified by the State Government from time to time after approval of the State Cabinet: Provided that, the pay of the Chairman shall not exceed the pay scale of the Chief Secretary and the pay of the Members shall not exceed the Maximum Pay Scale of All India Service Officers not below the rank of Principal Secretary to Government.” 3. Repeal and savings:- The Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2019 and the Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 are hereby repealed: Provided that the said repeal shall not affect, (a) the previous operation of the said regulations or anything duty done or any action taken there under; or (b) any right, liability or obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the said regulations.
