(cid:315)(cid:175)ೇಷ (cid:170)ಾಜ(cid:205) ಪ(cid:294)(cid:206)(cid:144)ೆ ¨sÁUÀ – 4J 11 2025 22 1946) . 87 Part – IVA BENGALURU, TUESDAY, 11, FEBRUARY, 2025 MAGHA, 22, SHAKAVARSHA, 1946) No. 87 GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA No. HD/122/PPA/2023 Karnataka Government Secretariat Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru, Dated:11.02.2025 NOTIFICATION The draft of the following rules to amend the Karnataka State police Services (Direct Recruitment of Meritorious Sports persons to the cadres of police constables, Sub-inspects of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police (Special) Rules, 2020, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a) of sub-section(2) of section 3 of the said Act, for the information of persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru- 560001. DRAFT RULES 1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka State Police Services (Direct Recruitment of Meritorious Sports persons to the (1)R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 cadres of police constables, Sub Inspectors of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police) (Special) (Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of rule 1.- In the Karnataka State Police Services (Direct Recruitment of Meritorious Sports persons to the cadres of police constables, Sub Inspectors of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police (Special) Rules, 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 1, in sub-rule (3), for the words and figure “not more than 2 percent”, the words “not more than three percent”, shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of rule 3.- In rule 3 of the said rules,- (i) in sub-rule (1),for the words "two percent", the words "three percent", shall be substituted; and (ii) in sub-rule (2), for the words "two percent", the words "three percent", shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of Schedule .- In the schedule of the said rules, in serial number 3, in the category of post of Deputy Superintendents of Police (civil), at serial No.3, in column (3), for the heading “(3) Age limits” and entries relating thereunder, the following shall be substituted, namely.- “(3) Age Limits.- Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (2-A) of rule 6 of the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, the sports persons must have attained the age of 21 years and shall not have attained the age of,- (a) 38 years in the case of meritorious sportspersons belonging to the General Merit category; (b) 40 years in the case of meritorious sportspersons belonging to the Other Backward Classes excluding Category-1; and (c) 45 years in the case of meritorious sportspersons belonging to the Scheduled Castes the Scheduled Tribes and category-1. (4) Achievements in Sports or Games applicable.- Must have secured 55 or above Grading or weightage marks as specified under the Table of sub-rule (3) of rule 5.” By order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka, (G.
