This notification, S.O. 1742(E), issued by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region on June 29, 2015, announces the nomination of members to the North Eastern Council. Exercising the powers conferred by clause (iii) of subsection (1) of Section 3 of the North Eastern Council Act, 1971 (84 of 1971), and superseding notification S.O. 2645(E) dated August 30, 2013, the President nominates Shri Chandra Kanta Das, IAS (Retired), and Prof. Gangmumei Kamei, Professor of History (Retired), Manipur University, as members. Their term is three years from the date of joining or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The notification takes effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The F. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th June, 2015
S.O. 1742(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (iii) of sub-section (1) of
Section 3 of the North Eastern Council Act, 1971 (84 of 1971) and in supersession of the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region
published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the
30th August, 2013 vide number S.O. 2645(E), dated the 30th August, 2013, except in respect of
things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby nominates the
following persons as members of the North Eastern Council, for a period of three years from the
date of joining or until further orders, whichever is earlier, namely :—
(1) Shri Chandra Kanta Das, IAS (Retired);
(2) Prof. Gangmumei Kamei, Prof. of History (Retired), Manipur University.
2. This notification shall take effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
