No. 01-Pres/2018.—The President of India, in his capacity as Visitor of Central Universities, is pleased to
direct that the following amendments shall be made in the categories and guidelines governing the Visitor’s Awards
published in Part I, Section 1 of the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) of October 24, 2014 and in Part I, Section 1 of the
Gazette of India (Extraordinary) of April 24, 2017 under Notification Nos. 72-Pres/2014, dated October 22, 2014 and
85-Pres/2017, dated April 20, 2017, respectively:—
2. In the table in para 1 of the Notification No. 72-Pres/2014, dated October 22, 2014 all the entries at Serial No. 1
relating to Visitor’s Award for the Best University be deleted.
3. In Para 6, pertaining to Method of Selection, the composition of Selection Committee from (i) to (viii) will
henceforth be replaced with the following:
(i) Secretary to the President – Chairperson
(ii) Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of HRD – Member¹Hkkx Iµ[k.M 1º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
(iii) Secretary, Department of Science & Technology – Member

4. In the table in para 1 of the Notification No. 72-Pres/2014, dated October 22, 2014 and para (i) of the
Notification No. 85-Pres/2017, dated April 20, 2017 relating to Visitor’s Award for Innovation, the serial number
shall become 1 instead of 2.
5. In the para (ii) of the Notification No. 85-Pres/2017, dated April 20, 2017 relating to Visitor’s Award for
Research, following amendments are made:
(i) The serial number 3(A) will henceforth be 2(A)
(ii) All the entries at serial numbers 3(B) and (C) be deleted
6. In the para (ii) of the Notification No. 85-Pres/2017 dated April 20, 2017 the following serial numbers and
entries under the columns “Sl. No.”, “Title of the Award” and “Details” shall be inserted:
