The Speaker made references to the passing away of Dr. Ricky
Andrew J. Syngkon Sitting Member of LS, Kumari Sushila
Tiriya, Member of Tenth and Eleventh and Twelfth LS, shri
Devi Bux Singh member of tenth Shri Purnmasi Ram Member
of Fifteenth LS Shri K.P. Unnikrishnan Member of Fifth, Sixth,
Seventh Eighth Ninth and Tenth Lok Sabha
HON. CHAIRPERSON: Hon. Members, with profound grief, I have
to inform the House about the passing away of our colleague and
four former colleagues.
Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon was a sitting Member of the

18 Lok Sabha representing the Shillong Parliamentary
Constituency of Meghalaya. He was also a Member of the
Committee on Chemical and Fertilizers. Dr. Ricky Andrew J.

Syngkon passed away on 19 February, 2026 in Shillong,
Meghalaya at the age of 54 years.

Kumari Sushila Tiriya was a Member of the 10 and 11
Lok Sabhas representing the Mayurbhanj Parliamentary
Constituency of Odisha. She also served as a Member of Rajya
Sabha for two terms. She was a Member of various Parliamentary

Committees. Kumari Sushila Tiriya passed away on 1 February,
2026 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha at the age of 69 years.

Shri Devi Bux Singh was a Member of the 10 , 11 , and
th
12 Lok Sabhas representing the Unnao Parliamentary
Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Shri Singh was also a Member of
several Parliamentary Committees. Shri Devi Bux Singh passed

away on 9 February, 2026 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh at the age of
85 years.

Shri Purnmasi Ram was a Member of the 15 Lok Sabha
representing the Gopalganj Parliamentary Constituency of Bihar.
He had served as a Member of the Committee on Food, Consumer
Affairs and Public Distribution. Earlier, he was a Member of the
Bihar Legislative Assembly for five terms and served as a Minister
in the Government of Bihar. Shri Purnmasi Ram passed away on

25 February, 2026 in Patna, Bihar at the age of 76 years.

Shri K.P. Unnikrishnan was a Member of 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9
th
and 10 Lok Sabhas representing the Badagara Parliamentary
Constituency of Kerala. He served as the Union Minister for
Surface Transport and Minister for Communications, and was also
a Member of several Parliamentary Committees. A widely travelled
person, Shri Unnikrishnan was a Member of various IndianDelegations to represent the country abroad. Shri K.P.

Unnikrishnan passed away on 3 March 2026 in Kozhikode, Kerala
at the age of 89 years.
The House deeply mourn the loss of our present colleague
and four former colleagues. I am sure that the House would join me
in conveying our condolences to the bereaved families.
The House may now stand in silence for a short while as a
mark of respect to the memory of the departed.
