NOTIFICATION-2
The draft of following rules further to amend the Karnataka Educational
Institutions (Recognition of Primary and Secondary Schools) Rules, 1999, which
the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred
by sub-section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983(Karnataka
Act 01 of 1995) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 145 of
the said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and
notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken in to consideration after
fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
Any objection of suggestion which may be received by the State Government
from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period
specified above will be considered by the State Government. The objections and
suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government,
Department of School Education and Literacy, M.S.Building, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
Veedhi, Bengaluru-560001.
DRAFT RULES
1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka
Educational Institutions (Recognition of Primary and Secondary
Schools)(Amendment) Rules 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the
official Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 3.- In the Karnataka Educational Institutions
(Recognition of Primary and Secondary Schools) Rules, 1999, in rule 3, for sub-
rule(3), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“(3) Every application seeking recognition shall be accompanied by annual
audit report which includes security deposit as specified in these rules in the form
of E-Bank Guarantee in a Nationalized Bank in favour of concerned Deputy
Director for School Education (DDPIs). The Management shall have the liberty to
utilise the interest earned on the Security Deposit for the development of the
institution. In case of default or closure of school, the department shall have the
right to utilise the Security Deposit to clear any dues payable by the management
towards staff on the department.”
