New Delhi, the 10th July, 2014
G.S.R. 485(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the constitution,
the President hereby, makes the following rules to amend the National Test House (Group ‘A’ posts)
Recruitment Rules, 1993 and Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 1996, namely:—
1. (i) These Rules may be called the National Test House (Group ‘A’ post) Recruitment
(Amendment) Rules, 2014.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the National Test House (Group ‘A’ posts) Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 1996, in Schedule
under Column 13 against the posts under the heading Scientist SB (Electrical), (Electronics), (Non-destructive),
(Mechanical), (Physical/Civil), (Physical/Rubber/Plastics and Textiles) and (Chemical), for the entry “As per
Rule 8.1” the following shall substitute, namely:—
(a) Departmental Promotion Committee (for promotion)
(i) Chairman/Member, Union Public Service Commission –Chairman
(ii) Director General, National Test House – Member
(iii) Joint Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Consumer Affairs –Member¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
(b) Departmental Confirmation Committee (for confirmation)
(i) Director General, National Test House – Chairman
(ii) Director/Deputy Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs - Member

3. In the Schedule at under Column No. 3 relating to the post Scientist SB (Mechanical), “General
Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted Ministerial” shall be substituted by “General Central Service Group ‘A’
Gazetted Non –Ministerial”.
