NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 2nd July, 2025
O.N. 21.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 13A of the Representation of
the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950), the Election Commission of India in consultation with the Administration of the
Union Territory of Chandigarh hereby designates Shri Swapnil M. Naik, IAS (AGMUT:2009) as the Chief Electoral
Officer for the Union Territory of Chandigarh with effect from the date he takes over charge and until further orders
in place of Shri Mandip Singh Brar, IAS.
2. Shri Swapnil M. Naik shall cease to hold and hand over forthwith the charge of all or any charges of work
under the Administration of Union Territory of Chandigarh, which he may be holding before such assumption of
office.
3. Shri Swapnil M. Naik while functioning as the Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh shall not hold any
additional charge whatsoever under the Administration of Union Territory of Chandigarh except that he should be
designated Secretary to the Administration of the Union Territory of Chandigarh in charge of Election Department
in the Union Territory Secretariat.
