स(cid:29)मLत का कायकD ाल सामाVयत: उसके गठन क1 Lत?थ से 3 वष D तक होगा बशत (cid:140) Jक:
(क) ऐसा सद+य, जो संसद सद+य है, य(cid:21)द वह ससं द सद+य नह(cid:24) ं रहता है तो वह स(cid:29)मLत का भी सद+य नह(cid:24) ं रहेगा।
(ख) स(cid:29)मLत के पदेन सद+य तब तक सद+य बन े रह%गे, जब तक Jक वे उन पद7 पर ह(cid:142), िजनके कारण वे स(cid:29)मLत के सद+य
बने ह(cid:142)।
(ग) य(cid:21)द स(cid:29)मLत के Jकसी सद+य के Kयाग प(cid:7), मKृ यु आ(cid:21)द के कारण कोई _रिYत होती है तो उसके +थान पर LनयुYत होन े
वाला सद+य स(cid:29)मLत क1 शेष अव?ध के (cid:29)लए ह(cid:24) सद+य होगा।

(2) Function of the Committee:
The function of the Samiti will be to advise with regard to the implementation of the provision relating to Official
Language contained in the Constitution, Official Languages Act and Rules and policy decisions of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti
and instructions issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Language) relating to official language and also in
regard to the progressive use of Hindi in the official work of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
(3) Tenure of the Committee:
Tenure of Committee will be for a period of three years from the date of its composition, provided that:—
a) Any member, who is a Member of Parliament, if he/she ceases to be the Member of Parliament will also cease
to be a Member of this Samiti.
b) Ex-officio Members of the Samiti will continue to be Members till they hold the post, by virtue of which they
are members of the Samiti.
c) If any seat falls vacant in the Samiti due to resignation or death etc. of any Members, the Members appointed in
his place, will be Member of the Samiti for residual term only.

(4) General:
The headquarters of the Samiti shall be at New Delhi but if considered necessary it may hold its meetings at any
other place also.
(5) TA & other allowances:
a) The Members of Parliament nominated in the Samiti, will be paid Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance as
per the provisions in the ‘Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowance & Pension) Act, 1954’ and amendments
issued from time to time and rules made there under vide Department of official Language office Memorandum
No. II/20034/04/2005-O.L. (Policy-2) dated 3 February, 2006 for participating in meetings of the Samiti.
b) Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance to other non-official members of the Samiti will be paid as per the
guidelines contained in the Department of official Language office Memorandum No. II/20034/04/86-O.L.
(A-2) dated 22 January, 1987 keeping in view the high level status of the Committee and in accordance with the
prescribed rates and rules as amended from time to time by the Government of India.
