The port-wise and year-wise details of turnaround time for the last five years are provided at Annexure I. The Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) published by the World Bank provides an objective and comparable assessment of container port performance based on the vessel’s time in port. As per the CPPI 2025, Jawaharlal Nehru Port is ranked 22nd, comparable with Singapore (21st), Shanghai (23rd) and higher than Rotterdam (333rd).

These include the construction of new berths and terminals, mechanization, modernization, and optimization of existing berths, terminals, and yards, as well as the creation of supporting infrastructure such as central parking plazas. Additionally, the One Nation One Port Process (ONOP) has been implemented to standardize and simplify port procedures across all ports, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing vessel turnaround times.
