One such inspiring example is Mr. Akarsh S P, a 26-year-old student belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community in Karnataka, whose dream of pursuing professional management education became a reality through the Top Education Scheme for OBC Students under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Growing up in a modest-income family in a smaller regional town, Akarsh believed that education was the key to creating a brighter future for himself and his family. His ambition was to pursue an MBA from a premier institution and build a successful corporate career. However, the high cost of tuition fees and living expenses posed a significant financial challenge. Funding a multi-year professional programme would have placed an enormous burden on his family and risked pushing them into debt. Apart from financial hardships, Akarsh also faced geographical and social barriers. Limited access to quality career guidance, mentorship, and professional exposure made his journey more challenging. Despite these constraints, his determination to excel academically remained unwavering. Top Class Education Scheme for OBC Students Recognising his potential, the Top Class Education Scheme for OBC Students extended financial assistance in the form of Tuition Fee Reimbursement amounting to ₹10,27,000 during the academic year 2025–26. The scholarship significantly reduced the financial burden on his family, allowing him to continue his postgraduate management education without interruption or financial anxiety.The financial support enabled Akarsh to focus wholeheartedly on his studies while actively participating in campus activities and entrepreneurship initiatives. Freed from concerns about educational expenses, he strengthened his academic performance, enhanced his managerial skills, and prepared himself for a successful career in the corporate sector. Today, Akarsh is pursuing his MBA with confidence and is steadily progressing towards becoming a competent management professional. The scholarship has not only enabled him to achieve academic excellence but has also empowered him to contribute meaningfully to India's economic and professional landscape. Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Akarsh S P said: "The scholarship relieved my family from a significant financial burden and allowed me to focus entirely on my education. It gave me the confidence to actively participate in academics and entrepreneurship initiatives while pursuing my MBA. Today, I am preparing to enter the corporate world with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to society."
