NOTIFICATION
Kolkata, the 12th September, 2016
S.O.2930(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways number
S.O. 2494(E), dated the 31st August 2015, issued under sub – section(1) of section 7 of the Metro Railways (Construction
of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978), published in Part – II, section 3, sub-section (ii) of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
dated the 15th September 2015, the Central Government gave notice of its intension to acquire lands, buildings, streets,
roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said notification, for
the purpose of construction of Majerhat station of Metro Railway of Joka – BBD Bag project and other works connected
therewith in the metropolitan city of Kolkata;
And whereas two objection cases under section 9 of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 had
been filed within 21 days of the publication of notification under sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Metro Railways
(Construction of Works) Act1978, and both of them have been disposed off, as reported by the Competent Authority;
And whereas the Central Government, on the report of the Competent Authority is satisfied that the lands,
buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said
notification, are required for the above said purpose;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Metro Railways
(Construction of Works) Act, 1978, the Central Government do hereby acquires the lands, buildings, streets, roads,
passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said notification;
The plan of the areas, specified in the Schedule which are required, is available for inspection in the office of the
