New Delhi, the 6th December, 2016
S.O.3650(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, number S.O. 3007 (E) dated 20.09.2016, published in the Gazette of India., Extraordinary , Part II , Section 3,
Sub- Section (ii) and issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of The National Highway Act 1956(48 of 1956)
(hereinafter to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the
Schedule, annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and
operation of National Highway No. 327B, 31, 31C and 10 (on the stretch from km 0.000 to km 28.950 of Asian Highway
No. 02) in the district of Darjeeling in the state of West Bengal.
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Ananda Bazar Patrika” and “The
Telegraph” both dated 01.10.2016; under sub-section (3) of section 3 A of the said Act.
And whereas no objection has been received by the Competent Authority .
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Competent Authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.
Now, therefore, upon receipt from the said report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub section(1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares the acquisition of

And further, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Ananda Bazar Patrika” and “The
Telegraph” both dated 01.10.2016; under sub-section (3) of section 3 A of the said Act.
And whereas objections have been received by the Competent Authority and after being heard, those objections
have been disallowed.
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Competent Authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.
Now, therefore, upon receipt from the said report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub section(1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares the acquisition of
the land, specified in the said Schedules for the aforesaid purpose;
And further, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
