NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd January, 2016
S.O.224(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of Metro Railways
(Construction of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government had
extended the application of the provisions of the said Act to the Metropolitan area of Kochi in the State of Kerala, with
effect from the 14th day of August, 2013 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Urban
Development, number S.O. 2458 (E) dated the 14th August, 2013;
Now, Therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 32 of the said Act,
the Central Government hereby adds the following metro alignment of Kochi Metro Rail Corridors Phase-I in respect of
the Metropolitan area of Kochi in the Schedule to the said Act, namely:—
