NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 28th February, 2019
S.O. 1102(E).—WHEREAS, M/s. Navi Mumbai SEZ Pvt. Ltd., had proposed under section 3 of
the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up
a Multi-Services Special Economic Zone at Village-Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, in the State of
Maharashtra;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-
section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006,
had notified an area of 128.4292 hectares vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification
Number S.O. 2254(E) dated 3rd September, 2009;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Navi Mumbai SEZ Pvt. Ltd. has now proposed to de-notify entire
area of 128.4292 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its “No Objection” to the
proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2019/CR-41/Ind-2 dated 20th February, 2019;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ Special Economic Zone
has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 128.4292 Hectares of the Special
Economic Zone;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the
Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification
except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
