NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 1st June, 2018
S.O. 2343(E).—Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, had proposed
under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up
a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Electronics/Telecom Hardware and support services including trading and
logistics activities at SIPCOT Industrial Area, Sriperumbudur in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4
of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified and de-notified the following
areas at above Special Economic Zone as per the details given below:-—

AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for
de-notification of 16.336 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter
No. 1873/MIE.2/2017-3 dated 07.11.2017;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Madras Special Economic Zone has recommended the
proposal for de-notification of an area of 16.336 hectares of the Special Economic Zone;
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3
of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of
the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the
Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 16.336 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 179.222 hectares,
comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely:-
