NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 3rd December, 2018
S.O. 6065(E).—Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited had proposed
under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a
Sector Specific SEZ for electronic hardware and related support services including trading and logistics operations at
State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Industrial Growth Centres, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram
District, in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4
of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified an area of 140.755 hectares at
the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 1784(E) dated 18th
October, 2007;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for
de-notification of 7.111 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No.
962/MIE.2/2015-7 dated 15.06.2018;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the
proposal for de-notification of an area of 7.111 hectares of the Special Economic Zone;
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3
of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of
the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the
Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 7.111 hectares, thereby making resultant area of the Special
