Vedanta Limited, 1st Floor, ‘C’ wing, Unit 103, Corporate Avenue, Atul Projects, Chakala, Andheri (East), Mumbai 400093, Maharashtra, India., has applied for grant of authorization under Section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003 vide its letters under reference for the transmission scheme for “Construction of Dedicated Transmission Line in the scope of Generation Projects Development of M/s Vedanta Limited (formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Limited / Sterlite Energy Limited)”. Works covered under the scheme: 400kV Vedanta (formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Limited/Sterlite Energy Limited— Sundargarh/Jharsuguda pooling station (PGCIL) D/C line. And whereas Government of India, Ministry of power vide letter no. 11/2/2010-PG dated 31.01.2014 had granted prior approval under sub-section (i) of section 68 of the Electricity Act, 2003 for “Construction of Dedicated Transmission Line in the scope of Generation Projects Development of M/s Vedanta Limited (formerly known as¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(ii)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3 Sesa Sterlite Limited/Sterlite Energy Limited)”. Works covered under the scheme: 400kV Vedanta (formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Limited/Sterlite Energy Limited)—Sundargarh/Jharsuguda pooling station (PGCIL) D/C line. And whereas the applicant has now requested to confer upon him all the powers under section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003 which the telegraph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to the placing of telegraph lines and posts for the purpose of a telegraph established or maintained by the Government or to be so established or maintained for the works. The transmission line covered under the scheme will pass through, over, around, and between the following villages, tehsils, talukas, mandals, blocks, towns and cities:— S. Telengapali, Podabahal, Kundukela, Kaintara, Deuli, Bhasma, Sundargarh Sundargarh Kainsara Now, therefore, after careful consideration, Central Electricity Authority, Government of India, confers, under section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003, all the powers on M/s Vedanta Limited which the telegraph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to placing of telegraph lines and posts for the purposes of a telegraph established or maintained by the Government or to be established or maintained subject to following terms and conditions for installing the above mentioned interstate transmission line for inter-state transmission of electricity, namely:— (i) The approval is granted for 25 years; (ii) The Applicant shall have to seek the consent of the concerned authorities i.e. local bodies, Railways, National Highways, State Highways etc. before erection of proposed line. (iii) The Applicant shall have to follow regulations/codes of the Appropriate Commission regarding transmission, O&M, open access etc framed under Electricity Act, 2003. (iv) The Applicant has been entrusted with the responsibility of “Construction of Dedicated Transmission Line in the scope of Generation Projects Development of M/s Vedanta Limited (formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Limited/Sterlite Energy Limited)”. Works covered under the scheme: 400kV Vedanta (formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Limited /Sterlite Energy Limited)—Sundargarh/Jharsuguda pooling station (PGCIL) D/C line. The details of the work are published in the Gazette of India dated October 15-October 21, 2016. (v) The Applicant shall operate the lines after approval of Chief Electrical Inspector of respective states/Central Government. (vi) The approval is subject to compliance by the Applicant of the requirement of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and the rules made thereunder. [F.
