NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 28th February, 2020
S.O. 1032(E).—Whereas, M/s. Nokia India Private Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the
Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector
specific Special Economic Zone for manufacture and assembly of electronics, telecommunications, IT
Hardware (including mobile phones, parts, components and accessories for phones and networks) and
development of software, R&D activities, training and other services in telecommunication at
Sriperumbudur, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006,
had notified and de-notified 85.375 hectares and 3.98 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide
Ministry of Commerce and Industry Gazette Notifications Number S.O. 1140(E) dated 17th August, 2005
and S.O. 1715(E) dated 24th May, 2017, respectively;[भाग II—ख(cid:2) ड 3(ii)] भारत का राजप(cid:9) : असाधारण 3
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Nokia India Private Limited has now proposed for de-notification of
13.0078 hectare from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal
vide letter No. 9773/MIE.2/2019-2 dated 20th September, 2019;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ, SEZ has recommended the proposal
for de-notification of an area of 13.0078 hectare of the Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under
sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of
section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic
Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 13.0078 hectare, thereby
making the resultant area as 68.3872 hectares, comprising the Survey numbers and the areas given
below in the table, namely:-
