NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th Novemebr, 2017
No.MoES/33/01/2017-Estt.—WHEREAS, President vide Order No. DOD/44-Estt./78/88 dated 03.01.1996
was pleased to declare the Sagar Sampada Cell, Cochin as an Attached Office of the Department of Ocean
Development with effect from 26.12.1995;
AND WHEREAS, vide Order No.DOD/2-FORV/6/2000 dated 12.01.2001, the President was pleased to
approve the re-naming of Sagar Sampata Cell as “ Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology(CMLRE)”, Kochi
an attached office under Department of Ocean Development to monitor, co-ordinate and promote the implementation of
various multi-institutional scientific research programmes relating to Marine Living Resources.
AND WHEREAS, vide Presidential Notification No. CD-87/2008 dated 16th February, 2006 issued by Cabinet
Secretariat ammending the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, the Department of Ocean
Development was named as Ministry of Ocean Development;
AND WHEREAS subsequently, vide Presidential Notification No.CD-384/2006 dated 12th July, 2006 issued
by Cabinet Secretariat ammending the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, the Ministry of
Ocean Development was named as Ministry of Earth Sciences;
NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of above Orders and Notifications, the competent authority notify “Centre
for Marine Living Resources and Ecology(CMLRE)”, Kochi as an attached office of Ministry of Earth Sciences(MoES)
(earstwhile Ministry of Ocean Development) with effect from 26.12.1995.
