होने की संभावना थी, प्रारूप जनयम भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग II, खंड 3, उपखंड (i) म ें प्रकाजित दकए गए थे,
उस तारीख स े जिसको उि अजधसूचना स े युि रािपत्र की प्रजतयां िनता को उपलब्ध करा िी गई थी, तीस दिन की अवजध

अतः अब केन्द्रीय सरकार केन्द्रीय मोटर यान अजधजनयम, 1988 (1988 का 59) की धारा 110 द्वारा प्रित्त
िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, केन्द्रीय मोटर यान जनयम, 1989 का और संिोधन करन े के जलए जनम्नजलजखत जनयम बनाती
ह,ै अथागत ् :--
1. (1) इन जनयमों का संजक्षप्त नाम केन्द्रीय मोटर यान (िसवां संिोधन) जनयम, 2021 ह ै।
(2) इन जनयमों म ेंअन्द्यथा उपबंजधत के जसवाय, ये जनयम रािपत्र में उनके प्रकािन की तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे।

2. केन्द्रीय मोटर यान जनयम, 1989 म,ें --
(क) जनयम 115झ, अथागत ् सपं ीजड़त गैसीय हाइड्रोिन ईंधन सले पर चलन े वाल े मोटर यान को 115ञ के रूप म ें
पुन:संखयांदकत दकया िाएगा ।
(ख) जनयम 115ञ के पश्चात् जनम्नजलजखत अंत:स्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत ् :--
"115ट श्रेणी एल, श्रेणी एम और श्रणे ी एन के एनहाइड्रोस इथेनोल या गैसोलीन सजहत इथेनोल के सजममश्रण पर
चलन े वाले मोटर यानों के जलए अपेक्षाए ं।
एनहाइड्रोस इथनाल या उि जनयमों के अधीन यथाजवजनर्िष्टग ईंधन जवजिष्टताओं के साथ गैसोलीन सजहत इथनाल
के जमश्रण पर चलने वाल े एल,एम और एन श्रेजणयों के मोटर वाहनों की सुरक्षा अपेक्षाएं समय-समय पर
यथासंिोजधत एआईएस 171:2021 के अनुरूप होगी, िब तक दक संगत मानक, भारतीय मानक ब्यरू ो
अजधजनयम, 1986 (2016 का ) के अंतगगत अजधसूजचत न हो।’’

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th May, 2021
G.S.R. 343(E).—Whereas, the draft rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
were published, as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of
1988), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways
number G.S.R 172(E), dated the 11th March,2021 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i) inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected, before the expiry
of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the official Gazette containing the said
notification were made available to the public;
And, whereas, copies of the said official Gazette in which the said notification was published were
made available to the public on the 11th March, 2021;
And, whereas, no objections and suggestions were received from the public in respect of the said
draft rules;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act,
1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central
Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely: —
1. Short Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (Tenth
Amendment) Rules, 2021.
(2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of their publication in
the Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989,
(a) Rule 115-I namely, Requirements for the motor vehicles running on compressed gaseous hydrogen
fuel cell, shall be renumbered as 115-J.
(b) after rule 115-J, the following rule, 115-K shall be inserted, namely:-[भाग II—खण् ड 3(i)] भारत का रािपत्र : असाधारण 3
“115-K. Requirements for motor vehicles of Categories L,M and N running on anhydrous ethanol
or blends of ethanol with gasoline
The safety requirements of motor vehicles of Categories L,M and N running on anhydrous ethanol
or blends of ethanol with gasoline, with fuel specifications as specified under the said rules, shall
be in accordance with AIS 171:2021, as amended from time to time, till the corresponding
Standard is notified under the Bureau of Indian Standard Act, 1986 ( of 2016).”
