New Delhi, the 8th June, 2020
S.O. 1794(E).— Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-
section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974
(52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12002/03/2020-COFEPOSA dated 14.02.2020 under the said sub-section directing
that Mr. Bhadresh Devchand Ranparia, S/o Mr. Devchand Ranparia, R/o 80/634 Motilal Nagar No.3, M.G. Road,
Near Azad Ground, Goregaon West, Mumbai, Maharashtra -400104 be detained and kept in Arthur Road Jail, Sane
Gureuji Marg, Arthur Road, Chinchpokli, Mumbai-400011 with a view to preventing him from smuggling goods;
abetting the smuggling of goods; and engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods, in future.
2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or
has been concealing himself so that the said Order cannot be executed.
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of
the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Commissioner of Police,
92, Dr. Dadabhai Naroji Road, Police Colony, Dhobi Talao, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Area, Fort, Mumbai,
Maharashtra - 400001 within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
