Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India specially empowered under sub section 1 of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act

3. अत: अब उक् त अजधजनयम की धारा 7 की उप-धारा (1) के खंड (ख) द्वारा प्रदत् त िजक् तयों का प्रयोग करते
हुए, केन्द र सरकार एतदद्वारा पूिोक् त व् यजक् त को जनदिे दते ी ह ै दक सरकारी राजपत्र में इस आदिे के प्रकािन की तारीख से
7 ददन के अंदर िह पुजलस महाजनदिे क एिं राज्य पुजलस प्रमुख, केरल सरकार, जतरुिनन्दतपुरम के सामने उपजस्ट्थत हो।

S.O. 361(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under
sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities
Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12001/43/2019-COFEPOSA dated 27.9.2019 under the said
sub-section directing that Shri Vishnu Somasundaram, S/o Shri Somasundaram, R/o TC 19/131-14,
Chandralekha, Sree Manthra Gardens, Dr. Ambedkar Road, Thirumala, PO, Trivandrum- 695036 be detained
and kept in Central Prison & Correctional Home, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, with a view to prevent him from
smuggling of goods, abetting the smuggling of goods and engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping
smuggled goods, in future.
2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been
concealing himself so that the said Order cannot be executed.
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the said
Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director General of Police
& State Police Chief, Government of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram within 7 days of the publication of this Order
in the Official Gazette.
