NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th November, 2018
S.O. 5734(E).—Whereas, the State of Uttarakhand has reported harm to life and property including large scale
destruction of agriculture due to overpopulation of Wild pig in areas outside forests;
And Whereas, the Central Government has considered it necessary to balance local population of this species to
mitigate the damage to human life, crops and other properties of the State for ensuring conservation of wildlife in forests.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of
1972), the Central Government hereby declare Wild pig (Sus scrofa) listed at serial number 19 of Schedule III to the said
Act to be vermin and to be included in Schedule V of the Act, for a period of one year from the date of the publication of
this notification in the Official Gazette, in the areas specified below, namely:-
I. Areas where the Wild pig (Sus scrofa) shall be deemed to be included in Schedule V in the State of Uttarakhand
