**Summary:**
The Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya MahaAbhiyan (PM JANMAN), launched on November 15, 2023, aims to improve the socioeconomic status of 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) communities across 18 states and one union territory. The initiative focuses on providing essential facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water, improved access to education, health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, electrification, and sustainable livelihood opportunities within a three-year timeframe.
The Abhiyan is being implemented through 11 interventions managed by 9 line ministries. * **Ministry of Jal Shakti:** Provided piped water supply to 7,406 villages out of 18,385 villages.
* **Ministry of Health and Family Welfare:** Operationalized 694 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) out of 694 MMUs sanctioned.
* **Ministry of Women and Child Development:** Operationalized 2,500 Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) out of 2,027 AWCs sanctioned.
* **Ministry of Education:** Started work on 492 Hostels out of 99 Hostels sanctioned.
* **Ministry of Power:** Energized 120,227 unelectrified households (HHs) out of 143,194 HHs sanctioned.
* **Ministry of New and Renewable Energy:** Sanctioned 9961 HHs under New Solar Power Scheme with 2363 HHs completed. Electrified 2516 Habitations out of 3894 habitations planned.
* **Ministry of Communications:** Commenced work on 802 Multipurpose Centers (MPCs) and Installation of mobile towers for coverage covered.
* **Ministry of Tribal Affairs:** Started business in 516 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) out of 332 VDVKs sanctioned.
Beneficiaries of VDVKs are receiving training in Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, and Value addition through the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Awareness camps are being organized in coordination with State Governments to facilitate the preparation of essential documents like Aadhar Cards, Caste Certificates, and Jan Dhan bank accounts, enabling access to various schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, and MGNREGA.

In Rajya Sabha, the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey replying today to
an un-starred question of Shri Neeraj Dangi informed that on 15th November 2023, Hon'ble Prime Minister
launched Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya MahaAbhiyaN (PM JANMAN) for socio-economic
development of 75 PVTG communities residing in 18 states and one UT. The mission aims to provide basic
facilities to improve their socio-economic conditions such as safe housing, clean drinking water and improved
access to education, health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, electrification of unelectrified
households and sustainable livelihood opportunities in 3 years. These objectives are being met through 11
interventions implemented by 9-line Ministries. PM JANMAN has total budgetary outlay of ₹24,104 Cr
(Central share: ₹15336 Cr and State share: ₹8768 Cr). Each Ministry under abhiyan is responsible for
implementing the intervention assigned to it. The actual release of funds under the abhiyan is subject to
specific guidelines of concerned interventions as per the approved norms and submission of proposals by
concerned States / UTs / IAs as per prescribed guidelines / procedures. The details of progress under the
abhiyan is given in Annexure-I.
Under the abhiyan, beneficiaries of VDVKs are being been imparted training on Entrepreneurship,
Skill Development, and Value addition through NIESBUD, Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship. Further, in coordination with State Governments, IEC camps have been
organized which were aimed at awareness generation and facilitating in preparation of basic
documents like Aadhar Card, Caste certificate, Jan Dhan bank account which are required for
availing benefits under different schemes including Ayushman Card, PM Awas, MNREGA etc.
