NOTIFFICATIONN The draft of thhe followinng rules fuurther to ammend the KKarnataka Civil Servvices (Direct Reecruitment by Comppetitive Exxaminationns and Seleection) (GGeneral) Ruules, 22006, whiich the Goovernmentt of Karnaataka propposes to mmake in exxercise off the ppowers connferred byy sub-sectioon (1) of seection 3 reead with seection 8 off the Karnaataka State Civil Services Act, 19788 (Karnataaka Act 144 of 1990)) is herebyy published as rrequired bby clause (a) of suub-section (2) of section 3 of the saidd Act, for the iinformatioon of all peersons likelly to be afffected thereby and nootice is herreby given that tthe said drraft will be taken intto consideeration afteer fifteen ddays from the date oof its ppublicationn in Officiaal Gazette.. Anyy objectionn or suggesstion, whicch may be received bby the Statte Governmment from any person wwith respecct to the said draft before thhe expiry of the peeriod specified above wiill be connsidered bby the Staate Goverrnment. TTitle and CCommenccement.- (1) These rrules may be called the Karnaataka Civil Servvices (Direct Recruuitment byy Competittive Examminations aand Selection) (General) (Amendmeent) Rules,, 2020. (2) They shalll come intto force frrom the daate of theirr final pubblication inn the Official Gaazette. (1)2 2. Amendment of Rule 2.- In the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examinations and Selection) (General) Rules, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 2, in sub-rule (1), after the item (d), the following shall be inserted at the end, namely:- “(e) “Selection Authority” means save as otherwise provided in these rules such Authority as may be specified by notification by the Government for selection of candidates to a particular category of posts.” 3. Substitution of the Expression “Commission”.- In the said rules, except in rule 2, for the word “Commission”, wherever they occur the words “Commission or any other Selection Authority specified by the Government”, shall be substituted.
