STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2026 No. 514 ARMS AND AMMUNITION The Firearms (Variation of Fees) Order 2026 Made - - - - 12th May 2026 Laid before Parliament 14th May 2026 Coming into force - - 4th June 2026 The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 43 of the Firearms Act 1968(1) and sections 11(4) and 17(9) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988(2). Citation, commencement and extent 1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Firearms (Variation of Fees) Order 2026 and comes into force on 4th June 2026. (2) This Order extends to England and Wales and Scotland. Variation of fees for firearm and shot gun certificates 2. In section 32(1) of the Firearms Act 1968(3) (fees for certificate and exemption from paying it in certain cases)— (a) in paragraph (a), for “£198” substitute “£204”; (b) in paragraph (b), for “£131” substitute “£135”; (c) in paragraph (c), for “£47” substitute “£48”; (d) in paragraph (d), for “£194” substitute “£200”; (e) in paragraph (e), for “£126” substitute “£130”. Variation of fees for registration as a firearms dealer 3. In section 35 of the Firearms Act 1968(4) (fee for registration and renewal thereof)— (1) 1968 c. 27; section 43 is extended by sections 11(4) and 17(9) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 (c. 45). (2) 1988 c. 45. (3) Section 32(1) was substituted by S.I. 1990/290 (England and Wales) and 1990/325 (Scotland). S.I. 2025/36 varies certain fees payable under the Firearms Act 1968.
