S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 2026 No. 957 CIVIL AVIATION The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Rali Ceredigion) Regulations 2026 Made - - - - 2nd September 2026 Coming into force - - 3rd September 2026 The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the area specified in the Schedule by reason of the holding of the Rali Ceredigion which is due to take place there.
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(a).
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Rali Ceredigion) Regulations 2026 and they come into force on 3rd September 2026.
Interpretation
2. In the Schedule the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time(b).
Restricted airspace
3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), during the periods specified in column 5 of the Schedule, no aircraft is to fly below the corresponding altitude specified in column 3 of the Schedule within the area bounded by a circle having a radius specified in column 4 of the Schedule centred at the point specified in column 2 of the Schedule.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any aircraft—
(a) flying in accordance with a permission issued by the Air Co-ordinator Rali Ceredigion, or
(b) operated by or on behalf of—
(i) a Police Air Support Unit,
(ii) an Emergency Medical Service, or
(iii) the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations impose restrictions on the flying of aircraft in the vicinity of a number of sites due to the holding of the Rali Ceredigion that is scheduled to take place on 3rd to 6th September
2026.
In view of the large number of spectators attending, the fixed wing, rotary wing and unmanned aircraft involved in both the filming of the rally, the relay of broadcast data, and the transport of rally officials and VIP guests to and from the various stages, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport agree that flying should be restricted in the vicinity of the event for reasons of public safety.
The times referred to in the Schedule are Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) which is one hour behind British Summer Time (BST).
In relation to the permission referred to in regulation 3(2)(a), the Air Co-ordinator Rali Ceredigion may be contacted as notified.
Full details of these Regulations will be promulgated by Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC) and Notice to Aviation (NOTAM).
