Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Policy Summary:** EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 131/2023, adopted on April 28, 2023, amends Annex XIII (Transport) to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The decision incorporates Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1253 of July 19, 2022, which corrects Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 regarding derogations introduced by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2011, into the EEA Agreement. Specifically, it adds an indent referencing Regulation (EU) 2022/1253 (OJ L 191, 20.7.2022, p. 45) to point 66p (Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012) of Annex XIII. The Icelandic and Norwegian language versions of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1253 will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union and are considered authentic. The decision entered into force on April 29, 2023, contingent upon completion of notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement or the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 129/2023 of 28 April 2023, whichever is later. The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
